Ruby Slippers of Oz

I have dying to read this book for quite some time. I saw a TV show about this book years ago and it had fascinated me. The book is about how the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz movie were found 40 years later in a movie studio warehouse. One of the questions discussed is just how many pairs of shoes were found. What happened to them? The man who found the shoes, Kent Warner, led a very interesting life. So many people still covet the ruby slippers. I am just still fascinated how much movie stuff was thrown out by the studios or sold cheaply. Fascinating book and subject.

A New Song

It's been 5 years since I've read a Mitford books. I read the first several but started getting tired of them. I picked this one up and it was like catching up with old friends. All the people of Mitford and their stories started coming back to me. Father Tim and Cynthia have gone to Whitecap Island, where he is the interim preacher. I was disappointed that the book was leaving Mitford but there is plenty of phone calls and action with Mitford characters along with the new characters on Whitecap. Throughly enjoyed this book. I just love the charm of Mitford.

One hundred and one dalmations

This book is really charming. All very familiar but a bit different from the Disney version. The book is much better. I loved the illustrations too. There is a sequel (did you know that?) that I have and plan to read soon. I was wondering why Dodie Smith's name seemed familiar and I almost forgot she also wrote I Capture the Castle, which I loved too.
