The Moon Stops Here

I bought this book in 2002 and was orginally going to read it on a cross country trip I took later that year. It turned out that I didn't get to do much reading on that trip so I never got to this book until now. It is the summer of 1969 and 14 year old Teddy, his mother, sister and cousin are traveling from Massachusetts to California to join their father in Taiwan. Teddy is the narrator of the story. The story is mostly about family relationships and how each person perceives their family in a different way. I didn't like the sister character, Cora, too much in this book. I like books about road trips and this was no exception.
