Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

It's still very early in the year but I think this one will be one of my favorite books of the year. Lily and Snow Flower form a special relationship through nu shu, women's secret writing, in early 19th century China. It is fascinatinating to learn about women's life during this time period especially about foot binding, getting married and other women's areas of life. I didn't really like what happened in the last part of the book, but I see how it came about.
